The American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC) promotes common sense immigration reform that advances economic competitiveness, provides companies with both the high-skilled and low-skilled talent they need, and allows the integration of immigrants into our economy as consumers, workers, entrepreneurs, and citizens.
ABIC members include CEOs, retired CEOs, business associations, small business owners as well as hospitals and universities. ABIC works in partnership with diverse immigrant advocates to support pro-immigrant legislation at the state and federal levels. Currently, ABIC is active in 16 states including Illinois, Florida, Texas, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, South Carolina, North Carolina, Colorado, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, and Nevada.

The ideal candidate is a strong and fast writer with experience drafting advisories, releases, fact sheets, talking points, and op-eds, especially for rapid response needs.
  • Produce press materials, including advisories, releases, reports, fact sheets, and memos
  • Contribute to daily rapid response
  • Monitor media coverage
  • Help maintain press lists and distribute materials
  • Collaborate with team on message strategy and pitch local and national reporters
  • Assist the communications director with projects as necessary
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • 3-5 years experience in communications and press relations, preferably on a campaign,
  • at an advocacy organization, or in government
  • Fluency in immigration issues and national politics is a plus
  • Experience with key national immigration and political reporter
