Communications Professional Role

The Communications organization in the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is hiring a skilled communications professional to contribute to dynamic communication strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting Structure: Directly report to the Communications Director of the Networked Information Solutions division.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with a team focused on developing and executing internal and external communication strategies for a rapidly growing business area.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate across functions and sectors for consistent messaging, shared communication practices, and enterprise event support.
  • Planning and Execution: Support the alignment of communication plans and execution for corporate and sector initiatives, ensuring measurable objectives.
  • Product Development: Partner across teams to develop external products and customer communication materials, tracking and enhancing performance, reputation, and engagement.
  • Detail-Oriented: Maintain a detail-oriented mindset with organizational strengths, adhering to time management and deadlines.
  • Content Creation: Draft, edit, and lead the design of collateral materials, including social media posts, executive communications, employee communications, and press releases.

  • Comfortable managing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Locations: Linthicum, Md., or San Diego, Calif.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with six years of experience in communications practices or four years with a Master’s degree.
  • Experience in communications strategy development and execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience in a large, matrixed, or geographically dispersed organization.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts for effective communication.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate and gain consensus.
  • Comfort with change in a fast-paced, empowered work environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Associated Press Style.

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,600 – $133,100

Note: Salary considerations factor in the position’s scope, responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
