Program Associate, Environmental Health
The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is the national membership organization for the nation’s federally qualified health centers (also known as FQHCs or Community Health Centers). Health centers are nonprofit, community-directed health clinics that provide access to high-quality, culturally competent, and comprehensive care to people living in medically underserved areas. NACHC strengthens the health center movement through advocacy, training, and technical assistance, clinical and operations support. Program Associate, Environmental Health
The Program Associate, Environmental Health provides organizational and programmatic support to the Direct Relief Power for Health Grant Program. The Direct Relief Power for Health Program at NACHC educates health centers in areas with climate, social, and infrastructure vulnerabilities on the benefits of solar micro-grids and the Direct Relief Grant Program. Direct Relief installs solar micro-grid power systems on community health centers in vulnerable areas to help ensure they are better prepared, more resilient, and better equipped to remain operational through disaster-caused blackouts. NACHC facilitates marketing, education, recruitment, and application of eligible health centers. NACHC serves as a liaison between health centers and Direct Relief through all phases of the equipment installment process. NACHC supports Direct Relief in program evaluation and reporting on program impact.
Reports to: Program Manager, Public Health Priorities, Public Health Priorities Division
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain current list of eligible, pending, active, and completed Power for Health Program health centers.
- Assist with the preparation of grant applications, contracts and Requests for Proposals, and any final reports
- Coordinates eligibility determinations, site reviews, and project design meetings
- Respond to triage applicant/ grantee questions and/or inquiries
- Assist with gathering data required for project reports
- Track project deliverables
- Work with other divisions, as required, to disseminate related project information
- Assist with plan(s) to communicate internally and externally, regarding the Power for Health Program
- Participate in the design and scheduling of educational offerings related to development
- Assist with Power for Health meetings: webinars, agenda, preparation, presenter contacts and announcement dissemination.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Bachelor’sDegree in public health, environmental sciences, engineering, or related field
- A proven ability to work independently with minimum
- Strong planning, organizational and communication skills with a solid ability to communicate internally and externally with tact and professionalism.
- Strong proficiency with technology (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Databases).
- Qualitative and quantitative research
- Must take initiative and be able to multi-task. Travel Requirements
- This position requires occasional travel for NACHC or Public Health Priorities Division
