Job Details

The Public Affairs Manager role will work within the Public Affairs function of the Global Government Affairs team, developing strategic communications messaging and materials that advance Salesforce’s public policy advocacy.

Activities/Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the global Government Affairs team members to support their advocacy priorities

  • Responsible for developing and delivering materials in support of company public policy objectives with an eye to global impact

  • Monitor any relevant legislative, policy, and news events

  • Translate complex corporate policy goals into simple, easy to understand strategic messaging for public policy and thought-leadership campaigns

  • Draft external communications materials such as blog posts, presentations, and talking points

  • Help manage communications and executive reports for the public affairs team including tracking and organizing issue campaign activities and tactics

  • Global Third-party relationship support (trade association tracking/reviews)

  • Slack management: Drafting/editing of updates; monitoring

  • Work cross-functionally with all relevant internal organizations, such as .org, Real Estate and Workplace Services, Marketing, Legal, Communications, Public Sector Sales, and Office of Equality

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with political and campaign world and/or with government, with an emphasis on the State and Local level preferred (3-5 years)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Some domestic travel required (up to 10%).

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, yet 100% devoted to the team

  • Ability to work with people across different departments and organizations with different management styles

  • Deep belief that business can be a powerful platform for change
