The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, lobbyist, thought partner, and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and manage risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. We partner with Snap team members on a wide array of matters, including privacy, product, IP, commercial transactions, corporate governance, employment, acquisitions, litigation, and policy, and social impact.  The Legal & Policy team values diversity and knows it powers us as we build an innovative and inclusive leadership culture centered on Snap’s values of Kind, Smart, and Creative.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Public Policy Associate to join Snap. As a member of the Public Policy team, you will help manage relationships with government, political and non-profit stakeholders. You will work to support the team’s policy priorities including advancing social impact, civic engagement, operations and projects in collaboration with members of cross functional teams across the company.

What You’ll do: 

  • Project Manage key initiatives related to democracy, civic engagement, political content, mental health, safety and identify opportunities for social impact

  • Manage partner relationships including aiding outreach efforts that nurture high impact partnerships and organize operations for tracking these efforts

  • Support content strategy and audience development for partners

  • Support administrative functions and operations for the Public Policy team

  • Assist in building out regularly shared reports and presentations

  • Track and report data to key partners and for internal teams

  • Research key policy interest areas and draft memos to brief team and stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills and sound political judgement

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects

  • Team player with a positive attitude, self-motivation and a sense of humor

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of external groups and individuals with a bias for creative problem solving

  • Knowledge of political news and current events

  • Passion for Snapchat

  • Fluency in additional languages is preferable

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Relevant Experience

  • 2 years in the political digital industry, public policy, political advocacy, or in a role that focuses on relationship building and social impact
