Public Policy Manager, Economic Policy

Policy Manager for Economic policy is a pivotal part of the Economic and Social Policy team in EU affairs: Managing Facebook’s policy work in the area of economic and competition policy (sectoral regulation), data economy, and other areas that impact Facebook’s business. Part of Facebook’s team covering our policy approach to a broad number of policy areas including competition, privacy, tax, amongst other areas. All these topics will be increasingly crucial for the Company in the following years, taking into account: proposed strategies by the Commission, on-going legislative processes in the Parliament and the Council as well as files that are in the implementation phase in member states.

Public Policy Manager, Economic Policy Responsibilities
  • Work with political bodies, policymakers and non-governmental organizations on economic policy issues, as well as the most prevalent international technology policy issues
  • Build & manage meaningful partnerships with key organizations across the region
  • Collaborate and ensure consistency in approach to Facebook’s policy issues across the region
  • Co-develop and execute a strategic approach to achieve company goals in public policy as they relate to the EU
  • Build coalitions with other organizations to advance policy goals of Facebook
  • Create innovative programmes and campaigns for outreach to policy makers on the impact of, and opportunities offered by, Facebook
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years Experience working with the European political systems and institutions as well as policy, politics and communications
  • Experience with co-developing policy strategy and policy analysis – Specific experience on ex ante economic regulation would be an advantage
  • Experience with analytical and creative approach to policy issues as well as cross functional team player
  • Ability to drive and manage policy files and regulatory engagement
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Fluent English essential – additional languages is a distinct advantage
  • A passionate belief in the social benefits of the Internet and Facebook in particular
  • Excellent communication skills for both small meetings and large events
  • A flexible mindset that thrives in a fast-moving environment with a strong do-it-yourself culture
  • An ability to translate between the specialist languages of technology and politics
