Public Policy Manager, Policy Planning

As a Public Policy Manager, Policy Planning, you will work closely with internal policy, legal, communications and product teams to execute strategy on forward looking policies about critical issues that affect the way the internet plays a role in society. You will also coordinate outreach with key governments, policy makers, international institutions, civil society, academics, and industry.

The ideal candidate is a public policy expert who is passionate about Facebook, intellectually curious, and able to function in a fast-paced environment where there are often shifting priorities. They are a strategic thinker with a deep knowledge of political and regulatory dynamics across key markets. They will have a proven track record of driving results by working collaboratively with multiple teams, understanding different perspectives and working to identify the best path forward. They will have excellent communication skills and an ability to form strong cross-functional internal relationships.

  • Engage with internal teams to execute the Proactive Regulation strategy.
  • Take part and drive internal conversations with cross-functional teams and understand different perspectives and priorities.
  • Work with product teams to drive policy initiatives that align with product strategy.
  • Project manage targeted initiatives that contribute to the goals of the proactive regulation initiative.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement across different regions and disciplines.
  • Represent Facebook with government officials, policy makers, civil society and industry.
  • Interest in and willingness to travel.
  • Bachelors degree or higher.
  • 6+ years of experience in tech policy and regulatory affairs.
  • Experience with government, international institutions, academia and civil society.
  • Experience with cross-functional leadership.
  • JD, MPP
  • Experience working with technology companies on policy development and/or enforcement
