Under the supervision and direction of the Vice President of Strategy and Operations, the Public Policy Project Manager will develop and execute strategic projects to advance MedPOINT’s public policy objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with MPM Policy Consultant, executive leadership, and trade association partners to develop and execute public policy and government affairs strategies
  • Lead internal working group meetings related to public policy projects and initiatives
  • Develop clear and concise materials in response to requests from clients and government entities, including high-level data interpretations and strategic recommendations
  • Review government policies, including All Plan Letters (APLs), State regulations, and State and Federal legislation, and synthesize materials analyzing their impacts on MPM strategy and operations
  • Represent MPM in government stakeholder meetings, both in public forum and in private
  • Draft comment letters and other written materials submitted for public record on behalf of MPM
  • Generate reporting and analytical models of key performance indicators to support targeted performance improvement efforts and strategic advocacy efforts using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel
  • Collaborate with other business stakeholders as needed to meet project deliverables
  • Provide frequent, detailed communication to business owners on project development and status
  • Research and build the knowledge base for policy initiatives by pursuing self-study in areas regarding best practices, health care policy, and regulatory compliance that could benefit one’s own role, as well as MPM operations

Minimum Job Requirements

  • 4+ years Project Management or Business experience in a business-related field or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience and interest in public policy and government affairs is preferred, especially health care policy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience working across functions
  • Experience in data analytics, preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, OneNote)

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to think critically and apply both public policy and business analyses to various scenarios
  • Ability to work well in a rapidly changing environment and to re-prioritize work accordingly
  • Ability to work directly and independently with executive leadership and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
