Public Relations Account Lead
About the job
Individuals in the Public Relations Account Lead role may have up to two years of previous public relations, journalism, marketing communications or similar experience. They will be fully trained in company values, communication styles (client, media and internal) and advanced public relations skills that are critical to performing the high-quality work we promise to our clients and each other.
On a day-to-day basis, Account Leads guide and provide direction to team members and client contacts on the accounts that they manage, as part of our continuous efforts to drive and maintain client satisfaction. Work is focused on securing results through earned press placements, expanding reliable media relationships, writing press releases, crafting media pitches and drafting byline articles, among other responsibilities. Expectations are clearly established for the quantity and quality of results, as well as high-level writing and strategic idea generation. Additionally, Account Leads work on approximately eight accounts, taking complete control over one to three client accounts that they are leading. This includes designing effective integrated campaigns that involve overseeing social media and content marketing aspects of the accounts.
Account Leads work on a team, referred to as a Pod internally, consisting of a Pod Lead and team members that focus on media relations, social media, digital marketing, graphic design and content marketing. They report directly to Senior Account Leads and above, and may be assigned work by the same. Account Leads manage accounts and day-to-day work without constant supervision. For most accounts, work will not be reviewed prior to being shared/presented to clients and media. They must share the agency’s positive spirit to further promote the upbeat vibe. Plus, they will obtain an understanding of our mission of “persistence” and the professionalism that defines our environment, while also working with an appropriate sense of urgency.
Through various All Points initiatives such as Orientation Week, The Welcome Program, ongoing team seminars and more, Account Leads are provided a platform to continue their professional growth. They take an active role in leading these initiatives in the agency to positively impact the development of their colleagues. In addition to these internal programs, Account Leads will benefit from opportunities outside of the office, such as ongoing education, client meetings and industry tradeshows, conferences and conventions.
