Public Relations Representative (level 2) or Principal Public Relations Representative (level 3)

The Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a motivated program communications professional to join our Redondo Beach, CA or Palmdale, CA team who is ready to meet the challenge of shaping and executing communications efforts for their assigned areas. Your communications expertise will be critical in continuing to position Northrop Grumman as a leader in aeronautics systems.
This position will report to the Manager of Communications for the Air Dominance division. Successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to programs, ensuring messaging and media engagement activities are aligned with Air Dominance Division objectives. Position will contribute to internal and external communications initiatives, support messaging, and collateral creation. Individual will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, engaging with variety of customers while managing multiple tasks.
Job duties include but not limited to:
- Conduct public relations activities to improve and support company, division, and program objectives with the media, public, industry, stakeholders, and employees.
- Attend in-person program meetings
- Coordinate with programs to gain consensus on communications goals and content development; ensure messaging and media engagement activities are aligned with Air Dominance Division goals and themes
- Write and edit internal and external communications , including press releases, announcements, strategic content, speeches, scripts, articles, and business presentations
- Develop, plan, and disseminate information utilizing print, broadcast, and/or intranet/internet media
- Support communication processes and operations
- Media monitoring and reporting
- Collaborating across the division and enterprise for regular exchange of information to support program communications objectives, share communications practices and support enterprise events
**This position may be filled as either a Public Relations Representative or Principal Public Relations Representative**
Basic Qualifications for Public Relations Representative:
- One of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications , or a business discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience in communications , journalism, public relations, or related experience
- Master’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications , or a business discipline with a minimum of 1 year of experience in communications , journalism, public relations, or related experience
- Experience managing communications projects and supporting the execution of strategic communications plans.
- Must be able to work on-site at the Redondo Beach location and support programs at various sites, including Palmdale and El Segundo.
- Occasional travel beyond the listed areas may be required (up to 10%)
- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Basic Qualifications for Principal Public Relations Representative:
- One of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications , or a business discipline with a minimum of 6 years of experience in communications , journalism, public relations, or related experience
- Master’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications , or a business discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience in communications , journalism, public relations, or related experience
- Experience managing communications projects and supporting the execution of strategic communications plans.
- Must be able to work on-site at the Redondo Beach location and have own transportation to support programs at various sites, including Palmdale or El Segundo
- Occasional travel beyond the listed areas may be required (up to 10%)
- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in or with the military, defense, and aviation industry and/or government
- Experience working in a large and geographically dispersed and matrixed organization
- Experience with Public Relations analytic tools
This position reports to Redondo Beach, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.
