Employees, contingent workers and visitors are no longer required to show proof of vaccination to be on-site. Effective January 2023, Freddie Mac’s hybrid work arrangement is 3 days in the office (specifically Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday).

 

Position Overview:

Freddie Mac’s Public Relations team is seeking a Public Relations Senior Associate who can strengthen our external communications efforts through media relations activities, writing and editing, media environment insights and analysis, and internal process management. The position requires a natural interest in and willingness to dive deep into both the single-family and multifamily housing finance markets, policy issues and research.

 

This position will provide growth to your public relations career with increasing levels of responsibility over time. We welcome those who are looking to take on a corporate communications role, whether transitioning from Capitol Hill or another government sector role, journalism, a non-profit or other corporate entity.  Successful candidates will be motivated initiative-takers with media experience, a strong interest in writing and a background in housing/financial services issues.

Your Impact:

You will advance our efforts through the following responsibilities:

  • Write press releases, op-eds, executive commentaries, blog posts and other media relations materials.
  • Coordinate media interviews and other engagements.
  • Calibrate broadcast, print and social media listening platforms to track media environment, providing after action reports for media engagements and periodic reporting.
  • Review and approve daily news brief
  • Coordinate weekly reporting related to public relations activities calendar.
  • Proofread and provide quality control for public relations materials.
  • Provide other support to the public relations team as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience working in a public relations environment or comparable experience.
  • Financial services, housing and/or capital markets experience a plus.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading ability.
  • Natural curiosity for housing, financial services, and related research issues.
