What You’ll Do:

SAP’s Global Public Relations team tells the company’s best stories to media that matter. From how SAP is driving innovation in the cloud to how we’re putting sustainability at the center of business, we source stories inside and outside the company, build relationships with top-tier reporters, and hold ourselves accountable for delivering results.

GPR team members engage in lively dialogue and debate with media and internal stakeholders to develop robust strategic messaging and create compelling content. This role will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with media on the west coast of the U.S. to strengthen SAP’s media coverage.

The ideal candidate will have experience working at or with a high-growth, multinational organization with global offices and external agency support.

Additionally, the candidate will lead press outreach and interviews with the Bay Area/West Coast-based reporters for leading business media outlets during earings, for SAP executives and for corporate storytelling to build brand credibility. The candidate will also manage crisis communications projects, as needed, with the head of GPR and executive board members.


What You’ll Bring:

•Building trust with key internal and external stakeholders, including top-tier global media
•Writing clear, compelling content including press releases, briefing books and strategic plans; eschewing corporate jargon
•Staying abreast of technology stories and trends; ensuring crisis readiness; possessing or developing a nose for news and how SAP’s story can best be told in the context of those larger trends
•Proven media or media relations experience and contacts, particularly with technology and business publications
•At least 8 years of experience in corporate communications or journalism with a strong external network among the outlets we target on the U.S. west coast
•A collaborative approach and a strong sense of team spirit
