Public Relations & Social Marketing Coordinator

Support the execution of Kohl’s public relations efforts, influencer marketing and paid and organic social campaigns in order to drive sales and traffic while garnering ongoing press and engagement for Kohl’s. This is done through the use of basic tools, agency support and cross-functional collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PUBLIC RELATIONS

  • Assist in the execution of existing and future public relations strategies to include research, event planning, and extensive writing such as media concepts, pitch angles, talking points, fact sheets, media alerts and releases.
  • Manage and coordinate all sample collection, disbursements and returns.
  • Manage and merchandise NY showroom for evergreen and press event usage, and cross-functional team needs.
  • Coordinate the activities with various external vendor partners and public relations agency.
  • Track results and works with agency partners to provide comprehensive measurement of program results and coverage.
  • Create and compile comprehensive seasonal/and or program-oriented recaps, reporting and coverage trackers.
  • Monitors daily media, with team, for inclusion in daily report of news/trends.
  • Maintains comprehensive editorial fashion and beauty calendars/opportunities and media contacts.

INFLUENCER MARKETING

  • Assist in managing influencer program deliverables, including securing products/materials, briefings, tracking, content and talent reviews, and program execution.
  • Identify content sharing opportunities across Kohl’s paid and organic efforts as well as digital extensions across Kohl’s marketing channels.
  • Act as an internal subject matter expert for influencer marketing, including regularly reporting out on trends, results, and opportunities to a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Supports ongoing reporting, measurement and analysis of influencer content and performance.
  • Identifies, develops and implements partnerships with influencers that will elevate Kohl’s and increase awareness.

CONTENT PLANNING & CREATION

  • Develops the Social Conversation Calendar for always on and co-op initiatives that delivers against social goals and strategies and utilizes social channel best practices and media learnings to optimize and evolve content. This includes building creative requests and content publishing.
  • Creates press materials and social content for all broad-based consumer brand programs and strategies, including, but not limited to, seasonal initiatives for spring, summer, back-to-school, fall and holiday, micro brand strategies, new brand launches, special and celebrity events, internal communications and other press functions.
  • Identify and activate social media trends and breaking news for Kohl’s.
  • Proactive community management and interaction with fans/followers for Kohl’s owned and operated social platforms as well as brand platforms.
  • Proactive engagement with influencers and publications across social platforms.
  • Follow trends in social media to generate ideas and tests.

MONITORING & REPORTING

  • Key resource for social industry trends, regulations and measurement to consistently improve and iterate capabilities, messaging and content.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining the influencer database to ensure it is up to date and optimized.
  • Monitors daily media, with team, for inclusion in daily report of news/trends.
  • Answers media calls and conducts media relations for all programs on a daily basis, including developing pitches.
  • Coordinates the activities with various external vendor partners and public relations agencies.
  • Tracks results and works with agency partners to provide comprehensive measurement of program results, social engagement and media coverage.
  • Proactive community management and interaction with fans/followers for Kohl’s owned and operated social platforms as well as brand platforms.
  • Utilize social listening programs to build and analyze social conversation, volume and sentiment and provide strategic recommendations to the team based on those results.
  • Monitor Kohl’s mentions, tags and hashtags for community engagement and content repurposing.
  • Establish a best-in-class proactive community engagement plan and guidelines for team and customer service team to activate against.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Four year degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing or other applicable area of study.
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in basic public relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in AP style writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Thrives in a fast paced work environment, able to work on multiple programs with multiple components and deadlines.
  • Experience working with different social media spaces (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube).

PREFERRED

  • Experience working national media, particularly consumer/fashion/lifestyle publications
  • Knowledge of and experience with influencer marketing
  • Comfortable working with a variety of social media dashboards and monitoring tools
  • Experience working with social media content and publishing,  influencer marketing, media and social reporting and analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of paid media and sponsored ad unit types

Pay Range: $63,100.00 – $97,800.00
