We are looking for a regional head of policy and government affairs, NE, who will lead our external and government affairs activities in the Northeast United States across multiple states and a professional dedicated to driving external affairs relations and building stakeholder rapport. We are advisors to our partners (employees) and internal business leaders. We advocate for fair and equitable regulations and relationships that support our Mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit while creating collaborations to deliver our strategic priorities. You will be responsible for directing, designing, developing, and delivering effective policy and government affairs strategies, initiatives, and tools that connect our retail and the company to the communities we serve. You will also contribute to Enterprise-wide policies and regional legislative and regulatory strategies that enable Starbucks to grow its brand presence and image in communities throughout the Northeast region. You get to do this by working closely with executives and peers across the company and primarily with Store Operations, Global Communications, and other functional teams, including the broader Starbucks Global Sustainability, Global Social Impact, and Global Diversity and Inclusion teams.

As a regional head of policy and government affairs, you will…


Proactively identify and develop large-scale policy, legislative and regulatory strategies, initiatives, and stakeholder engagement to create impact and influence that supports the business and the brand.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, navigating complex and challenging topics and representing holistic Starbucks perspectives while understanding the external policy and political landscape.
Proactive interpret, share, and apply insights to enhance current policy, legislative and regulatory strategies, initiatives, and stakeholder engagement, identifying opportunities to drive impact, influence, and create value.
Create opportunities to directly elevate the company’s brand reputation with internal and external audiences through stakeholder engagement and supporting other cross-functional partners.
We’d love to hear from people with:

5-10 years leading government affairs and public policy-related programs, projects, and cross-functional teams
A 4-year degree is preferred, and a graduate degree or certification is valued
