Senior Account Supervisor
Hager Sharp, an award-winning agency with a 50-year track record of serving organizations that are working toward meaningful change in the world, is seeking a Senior Account Supervisor to join our growing Education, Labor, and Economy (ELE) practice and manage clients in those areas. The ideal candidate for this role is adept at managing client relationships, overseeing execution, and driving strategy development. Success in this role requires a sense of comfort with ambiguity, creative problem-solving skills, accountability to manage projects successfully through launch and beyond, plus exceptional communication skills to manage and grow client relationships.
The senior account supervisor works with a team providing broad communications support to a growing book of business, including media relations, social media, operations and project planning, event planning and execution, and conference services. They work with project teams to manage day-to-day client needs and overall communications strategy. They possess and demonstrate strong understanding and skills across project management, client service and account management, research, communications activities, and media relations. An understanding of the pressing issues in education and the role of educational assessment is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead account work for one or more education, labor, and economy clients, managing all aspects of the client relationship and ensuring high quality, on-time, responsive client service.
Manage all facets of account work, ensuring the right specialists are engaged in the right work for clients.
Provide strategic counsel to advance client objectives; keep senior leadership informed and bring them in when necessary.
Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive communication strategies and programs on behalf of clients.
Lead the creation and management of client budgets, including invoicing, and progress reporting; support revenue forecasting and minimize cost overruns
Maintain and expand business (scope and revenue) with existing clients
Maintain timely and thorough understanding and awareness of key issues relating to client(s).
Lead select business development knowledge management activities, including developing case studies, capabilities documents, and capabilities presentations
Manage and mentor staff at the Account Coordinator, Account Executive, Senior Account Executive, and Account Supervisor levels in an environment of support and growth.
Demonstrate an emerging expertise in strategic communications and media relations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.
At least 7 years of experience in communications or related field; experience in a communications agency a plus.
Outstanding writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, creatively, and critically to advance client projects.
Proven skills in a range of key areas, such as earned media outreach, strategic communications planning, rapid response or crisis communications, social media, partnership outreach, materials development, writing for various audiences, and event planning and execution.
Strong team management, project management, budgeting, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage staff for optimal growth and productivity.
Demonstrated or developing business development skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in communications and marketing tools (e.g., Cision).
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
