What role you will play in our team

 

  • The Senior Advocacy Strategy Advisor will help develop and implement the strategy for the Issues & Advocacy team, helping coordinate advocacy and public affairs activities across the department and with other parts of the company
  • This position reports to the Global Head of Issues & Advocacy and is based in Washington, DC

What you will do

 

  • Help develop, implement and track progress on strategic priorities for the Issues & Advocacy team
  • Support the design and execution of public affairs and advocacy campaigns across priority issues
  • Track and analyze external policy, economic and policy developments
  • Ensure there is clarity on issue priorities and advocacy plans across the team
  • Oversee third-party and issue-specific public opinion polling on domestic and international issues and leverage insights in advocacy strategies
  • Coordinate advocacy activities with the Government Relations and Communications teams
  • Manage department budget and ensure resources appropriately allocated across issue priorities
  • Oversee relationships with external consultants and vendors
  • Maintain organizational systems to improve coordination across corporate issue management teams
  • Manage special projects (unplanned policy developments or events significant to company; identifying resourcing needs for the team; etc)

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • An undergradate or graduate degree from an accredited university
  • A minimum of 15 years of broad-based public policy advocacy experience at a corporation, think tank, consultancy or government agency
  • Proven track record working effectively with senior management
  • Experience managing public affairs campaigns and/or skill areas, such as policy communications, message development and stakeholder engagement
  • Highly self-motivated, with excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Analytical with the ability to synthesize complex data into easily understood information
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills; team player
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a global team as well as with internal business units and departments
  • Manage quickly changing priorities and/or external events that impact business goals
