WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Senior Climate Equity Advisor furthers the work of The Nature Conservancy’s US Climate Mitigation Program by leading the ongoing development and implementation of a strategic framework to integrate and center equity into TNC’s climate policy, science, and practice work. They will advise staff supporting the Climate Mitigation Program goals at the national, regional and state business unit levels, especially policy experts, on strategies and approaches for centering equity in their climate strategies. They will support efforts to build partnerships with external organizations, groups, and communities. The advisor will promote institutional learning by disseminating best practices, providing analyses, and widely communicating solutions, innovative scientific methods, analyses, tools and frameworks to address needs. They will establish goals and track progress against integrating equity into climate strategies and projects across the United States. They will work collaboratively counterparts within the organization to provide and extract useful lessons and experience and to coordinate on joint policy/practice approaches, including the Community and Equitable Conservation team, Indigenous Landscapes and Communities team, Global DEI team, the Global Renewable Energy team and the Climate & Justice Learning Community.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of senior management level experience in public policy, government relations, community engagement, environmental justice, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Supervisory experience
- Fluency in English
- Direct experience working with partners, including non-government organizations, community groups, or government agencies.
- Experience leading and managing complex projects and strategic initiatives including synthesizing information and tracking progress.
- Experience in strategy development and implementation.
- Experience with relationship building skills and experience collaborating across teams and matrixed organizations and influencing without authority.
- Experience negotiating complex high profile or sensitive agreements.
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
