Senior Communications Manager

Develops and executes public affairs and issues management strategies across communication channels, audiences, and client groups. Manages media relations across multiple lines of business and for various enterprise-level initiatives. Provides communication consulting and counsel on a wide variety of programs and issues impacting the company’s reputation. Writes and edits communications materials, including media statements, message points, customer notifications and other publications. Works with partners across the business to evaluate opportunities for engaging key audiences, makes recommendations, and develops supporting materials as needed, including talking points and presentations. Proactively works to identify, assess and mitigate issues impacting the company’s reputation across channels and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute public affairs and issues management strategies
  • Provide strategic counsel to internal clients on tactics and messaging for communicating key initiatives to customers, community advocacy groups, media and other stakeholders
  • Field incoming media inquires and work with reporters to shape coverage about the company
  • Partner with social servicing and enterprise brand teams to protect the company’s reputation across social media channels
  • Serve as a key contributor to the company’s Reputation Risk Management program, supporting efforts to anticipate, identify and address potential threats to reputation health
  • Identify, build and maintain effective relationships with partners across the enterprise, including members of the government relations, legal, human resources and brand marketing teams
  • Develop and maintain deep fluency and expertise in relevant external trends impacting the business and its peers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Military Experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing and implementing communications strategies, including experience working with members of the media
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in public affairs and/or efforts to protect reputation health through integrated communications strategies
  • Experience working with top tier national and consumer news reporters
  • Ability to submit 1 to 2 writing samples upon request
  • 5 years of work experience in communications and training consulting
  • 2 years of experience with large program delivery/communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English or related concentration
  • 2 years of experience working with social-media platforms Experience with G Suite tools
