Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Director of Government Affairs to serve as the Corporate Lead Executive in Colorado Springs, Colorado, reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Space, Intelligence and Cyber team.  The Director will directly support Northrop’s fast growing Space Sector, and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to foster an in-depth understanding of requirements for the Department of Defense and the Intelligence community. The successful candidate will be the primary Northrop Grumman Corporate interface to:

  • United State States Space Command, North American Aerospace Defense Command/United States Northern Command, United States Space Force/Space Operations Command, and United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command/United States Army Forces Strategic Command.
  • Six military bases in Colorado—Schriever AFB, Peterson AFB, Cheyenne Mountain, Fort Carson, Buckley AFB and the Air Force Academy.
  • The company’s industry partners and other business leaders
  • The Colorado Springs community, which supports local economic development, community service initiatives, and philanthropic activities.
  • Local, regional and state partners.
  • And finally, industry associations such as National Defense Industrial Defense Association, Air Force Association and AFCEA.

This individual will lead and set the operational tempo by coordinating high level customer interface with DoD and othercustomer organizations. This will be accomplished through internal cross-sector and external strategy development andoutreach.In addition, the Director will coordinate, integrate and synchronize corporate and sector customer engagements, campaign strategies, and the development of new business opportunities.  The Director is also responsible for providing inputs for the development of CEO priority programs, as well as maintaining awareness of significant policy, program, budget, and development efforts affecting corporate goals. The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Leadership skills to collaborate and engage across the company and community.
  • Strong program management skills and the ability to work with groups of geographically dispersed experts.
  • Strong relationship building skills to support customers and industry partners.
  • A proven ability to work well across all levels of management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least 15 years of USG service and government relations or business development experience OR a Master’s degree with 13 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship skills to collaborate and engage across a large company and community.
  • Candidates must have a current DOD Top Secret level security clearance (or higher) with an original adjudication, or a periodic reinvestigation date completed within the last 6 years to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with 13 years of experience
  • Retired military flag officer or civilian senior executive service with deep space expertise.
  • A high level of confidence, integrity, and hands on approach to problem solving are required as well as a professional executive presence for interacting with and influencing DoD decision makers, senior management, and other executives.
  • Demonstrated strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen.
  • A strong commitment and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational as well as project management, analytical, planning, presentation,  and inter-personal skills.

 

Salary Range: 190900 – 286300

 

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
