Position Summary:
ITI, the global trade association of the technology industry, is seeking a Senior Director, Government Affairs to join their
growing team. As a key member of the team, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Policy, the Senior Director will serve as
ITI’s lead advocate and legislative strategist to the U.S. Congress and relevant U.S. executive branch agencies with respect to
public sector issues. This position will have chief responsibility for engagement with the U.S. House of Representatives and
Senate, in particular with members of the Armed Services Committees, as well of other public sector-focused committees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
❖ Serve as the lead public sector advocate on behalf of ITI member companies on priority public sector legislation.
❖ Analyze and advocate on key ITI public sector legislative issues, including federal I.T. modernization, acquisition
reform (including cybersecurity, supply chain, and software assurance), and other legislation affecting federal
❖ Analyze, track, and seek to influence legislation that could affect the public sector interests of ITI members, including
the National Defense Authorization Act, Department of Homeland Security reauthorization, the Intelligence
Authorization Act, and appropriations legislation.
❖ Work to establish and maintain ITI as the lead voice for the technology industry in the federal public sector
❖ Develop and enhance strong working relationships with member companies and their representatives.
❖ Broaden and deepen relationships with public sector-focused members of Congress and administration officials to
advance key public sector industry priorities.
❖ Serve as a spokesperson for ITI members and as an industry leader in building relationships with other public sector
organizations, constituencies, and coalitions whose interests align with ITI.
❖ Actively participate in ITI member company recruiting activities.
❖ Assist in running ITI’s political program.

representatives and staff in a collaborative environment
❖ Strong leadership and organization skills that demonstrate an ability to exercise personal initiative to advance member
company priorities
❖ Strong verbal and written communication, management, and strategic planning skills
❖ Strong public sector focused relationships with the U. S. House of Representatives, Senate, Administration, and
related agencies
❖ Substantive ability to master changing public sector issues confronting ITI members in a relatively short time period
❖ A track record for working well as a team-member, including cross-team collaboration
❖ Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
❖ Demonstrated ability to prioritize numerous projects
❖ Sound political judgment
❖ A good sense of humor
Required Education and/or Experience:
❖ BA/BS degree in Political Science, Policy, Business Administration, or a related field
❖ Five to seven years of experience serving as a legislative/policy aide in a Congressional office and/or relevant
❖ Substantive knowledge in federal procurement policies and regulations, acquisition reform, and the legislative process
❖ Strong working knowledge of legislative, executive, and regulatory agencies of the U.S. government
❖ Experience with providers of information and communications technology sector products and services offered in the
public sector
❖ MS/MA or J.D. preferred
