Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Government Affairs and Local Advocacy, you will be responsible for developing Comcast’s strategy for engaging cities and municipalities in support of strategic business initiatives including, but not limited to, increasing broadband adoption, connecting the unserved, and promoting digital equity. The Senior Director of Local Governmental Affairs will ensure the company’s Local Government Affairs teams have the guidance, tools, and materials necessary to engage and educate local Government legislators, officials, and stakeholders in support of Comcast’s local policy and legislative objectives. The role will also lead the company’s engagement with local Intergovernmental Associations. This position works in close partnership with HQ Business, Marketing, Communications, Digital Equity, Business Services and Community Impact departments as well as HQ, Divisional, State, and Regional Government Affairs leadership.Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead Local Government Affairs support of the strategic business initiatives.
  • Enhance communication with local officials around Comcast’s investments and ensure linkage to Comcast’s local policy priorities.
  • Support Local Government Affairs teams in the development of strategic advocacy plans and campaigns.
  • Manage Comcast’s local Inter-Governmental Association (IGA) program, including planning, coordination, and Comcast’s engagement with associations, chambers of commerce, and local Digital Equity coalitions.
  • Equip government affairs Field Teams with advocacy materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • 7 – 10 Years professional experience in either managing political campaigns, practicing public affairs, field organizing, or issue advocacy (either grassroots or legislative) at the municipal or county level.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization, supporting field teams and working with outside consultants.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a bipartisan manner.
  • Proven ability to work, lead and collaborate
  • Strategic thinker who can execute tactically.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead projects to successful completion through careful project planning.
  • Experience in the technology industry is a plus.
