The Senior Government Affairs Manager (Senior Manager) is central to SVCE’s policy team. Reporting
to the Director of Legislative and Regulatory Policy, this is an external-facing position, and the Senior
Manager will build relationships and collaborate with local and state elected officials, including but not
limited to, SVCE’s Board of Directors and local legislative delegates, and will help build coalitions
with like-minded stakeholders. The position will regularly collaborate with the
Account Services and Customer Relations team, as well as other SVCE internal teams. By building
relationships with policymakers and other stakeholders at the state, regional and local levels,
this position ensures the organization’s mission and goals are met. This position will play a critical role
in developing and nurturing SVCE’s overall policy advocacy strategy and ensuring SVCE’s role as a
thought-leader with policymakers.
The Senior Manager will begin their role by developing a comprehensive outreach plan aimed at
both local and state elected officials. In addition, the Senior Manager will identify partner
organizations and work on identifying longer-term shared goals.

Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree is required in business or public
administration, operations management, economics
or closely related field, or other degrees with
demonstrable and commensurate work experience
that is directly relevant for this position.
At least five (5) years of progressively responsible
experience in legislative and/or governmental affairs at
an electric utility, regulatory agency, or legislative office
with emphasis on electric procurement issues, energy
efficiency, energy market structure, or a closely related
The salary range for the position is $148,865 – $204,276
annually, depending on qualifications and depth of
