In this role, you will coordinate with internal and external teams and stakeholders to plan, execute and integrate communications activities, including content development, publishing, measurement and other operations. As a subject matter expert, you will give direction to team members on tactics and execution and work collaboratively across global centers of expertise

How you will contribute

You will develop strategy and implement internal and external communication processes and deliver results in your area of expertise. To generate positive media coverage for the company and its brands, you will develop a media strategy and build strong media relations with Tier-1 media and global media in your geographic area. You will work with internal cross-functional teams to protect and strengthen the company and brands’ reputation by developing content and managing related communications channels and provide Mondelez International spokespeople with talking points, ensuring their visibility by monitoring business events and proactively managing their speaking opportunities. In addition, you will represent Mondelez International as a spokesperson when appropriate; support the consumer relations function as it relates to social media and media coverage based on consumer feedback; edit and approve external communications to key accounts, distributors, consumers, and partners; support your local management team on internal communications and ensure effective co-ordination with other functions; and ensure activities are delivered within budget.

More about this role

As Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs, North America, you will be responsible for developing and delivering internal and external communications and corporate affairs programs and initiatives to support key business priorities and strategic initiatives for the $7 billion North American region/U.S. business unit.

You will champion Corporate Affairs and Communications as strategic business levers and growth enablers within the organization, while enhancing the company’s profile and reputation both internally and externally.

You will lead brand PR efforts in support of beloved billion-dollar snack brands such as Oreo, Ritz, Sour Patch Kids, Swedish Fish, Trident, Triscuit and beyond.  You will bring new thinking and innovation to brand communications, fueled by your strong communications experience and perspective, as well as your understanding of traditional and social media trends.  As a core member of the business unit’s integrated Marketing communications team, you will have the opportunity to drive innovative, breakthrough communications and PR efforts for iconic brands.  You will represent brands and the company as spokesperson in external media relations with top-tier media outlets.  Further, you will manage external PR agencies which support MDLZ in the U.S. across multiple brands and outreach efforts.

You will play a key role in driving communications and engagement efforts for North America Regional/U.S. business leadership (spanning multiple business categories and functions), including office-based employees as well as field sales, manufacturing and logistics employees across the U.S. and North America.

You will also be responsible for content creation and updates to internal and external communications channels, including intranet, social media and beyond, and will play a lead role in driving strategic internal and leadership communications, including print, face-to-face and other online and interactive vehicles.  You will partner with other business leaders (HR, Marketing, etc.) to deliver internal communications and employee engagement efforts.  In addition, you will ensure NA/U.S. presence and content on the company’s internet and in other internal and external forums is fit for purpose.

You will support the Regional Director, Corporate and Government Affairs, North America, on important strategic communications efforts, and will work collaboratively with colleagues in the NA CGA organization, among others, to drive business priorities in a wide range of areas, including Snacking Made Right priorities (Impact/Sustainability, Philanthropy, Diversity & Inclusion, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • University degree  in communications  or related  field  (marketing, advertising, other liberal arts area) required
  • Minimum 8+ years previous work experience in PR/media/advertising agency setting or related corporate fields (Corporate Affairs, PR, Marketing)
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent knowledge of/ previous experience with technology platforms (intranet/internet) and design programs (HTML, Photoshop, Adobe, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of marketing fundamentals and business dynamics
  • Strong social skills and ability to network/build relationships
  • High degree of creativity and intellectual curiosity
  • Experience leading effective PR/Media Relations campaigns and/or related Corporate Social Responsibility/Impact/Philanthropic Partnership efforts
