Senior Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Communications

We’re looking for an experienced communications professional to join Raytheon Technologies’ corporate communications team, reporting to the senior director of employee communications.

The senior manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Communications will collaborate across the Global Communications team and with each of the company’s four businesses to plan and execute an integrated DE&I communications campaign aligned to company goals and targeted at both internal and external audiences. This strategic role requires a proven leader with experience in culture building, integrated change and campaign management, and employee engagement.

The senior manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Communications will provide communications counsel and executive support to Raytheon Technologies’ Chief Diversity Officer, helping the CDO align the company’s DE&I community of expertise to the company’s four-pillar approach that includes talent management, community engagement, public policy and supply chain. In addition, the candidate will lead strategy, planning, execution and measurement of DE&I communications programs to educate and engage internal and external audiences about Raytheon Technologies’ approach and progress in transforming our company, our industry and our communities to build a more equitable future.

Overall the candidate will serve as a trusted communications adviser, analyzing situations/challenges, identifying gaps/opportunities, and developing and executing strategic communications in support of company priorities. They will develop communications content that delivers clear, compelling messaging to target audiences; partner with internal and external agencies to develop creative that effectively delivers key messages; and ensure all content reflects RTX’s brand and desired positioning. The candidate must be willing and able to flex to support priority initiatives as needed.

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field
  • 12+ years of internal and/or external communications experience
  • Experience in executive communications and integrated marketing
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills, including visual storytelling and message simplification
  • Strong executive presence and interpersonal, client consultation and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success working effectively in cross-functional, matrixed teams
  • Proven ability to think strategically, work independently, manage time and resources, organize and prioritize work across multiple projects, attend to details and work within tight deadlines
  • Proven agility and adaptability to changes in direction in a fast-paced working environment, including ability to flex to support priority initiatives as needed.
  • Passion for DE&I and cultivating a culture where employees can thrive

Desired skills:

  • Experience communicating to a geographically diverse employee population, including non-desk and/or non-intranet connected employees
  • Experience with social media and digital platforms
  • Experience and/or familiarity with DE&I communications
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, the aerospace and defense industry
  • Experience using data to address business challenges and develop appropriate strategic communications programs
