Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Public Affairs, the Senior Manager, Public Affairs will support the development, evolution and successful communication of the Johnson & Johnson MedTech public affairs strategy, and support and execute logistics of public affairs programs and campaigns, administrative tasks and writing and editing to ensure successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm, plan and execute key JJMT proactive public affairs strategies and campaigns
  • Develop advocacy/stakeholder engagement plans and build relationships with key advocates
  • Support digital public affairs efforts and proactively seek opportunities to infuse health policy messaging into thought leadership plans including regularly contributing content to JJMT social handles, leader blogs and website communications
  • Serve as integral member of the team supporting industry and trade association activations including message development, media coordination, digital content and event planning
  • Partner closely with key colleagues including within the JJMT business, Government Affairs & Policy, Strategic Customer Group (SCG), Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) teams and other key internal stakeholders to understand issues and develop strategies to help mitigate risk.
  • Support development of JJMT narrative/story and development of JJMT sustainability narrative, including serving as a liaison to corporate sustainability and ESG workgroups and workstreams
  • Maintain strong understanding of current industry and health policy trends affecting the JJMT reputation, franchises, and brands
  • Develop, establish and maintain strong policy media relationships and knowledge of key health policy issues
  • Work closely with media relations and digital media teams for successful implementation and coordination of communications efforts



  • Bachelors degree is required with a preference of study in the areas of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or closely related field.

Experience and Skills:


  • Minimum of ten 8 years’ experience in Communications
  • Experience with external communications
  • Agency, public affairs, digital media and previous healthcare experience
  • Experience with public affairs principles and concepts
  • Strong writing and general communication skills
  • Self-starter with proven project management skills, good judgment and demonstrated ability to solve problems
  • Desire to be an effective team member and to contribute proactively to group success
  • Excellent organization and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of leadership


  • Experience in a highly regulated environment
  • Prior healthcare or health policy experience a plus


  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
