Job Description

This role will report to the Senior Director, Global Executive Briefings Center of Excellence, Strategic Engagement & Public Policy

This position, situated within Corporate Affairs’ Public Policy Center of Excellence, is responsible for developing policy materials and driving knowledge management on key issues impacting the food and beverage operating environment. The role will serve as a critical link between the global Corporate Affairs function and two business sectors: Africa, Middle East and South Asia (AMESA) as well as Asia Pacific, Australia / New Zealand and China (APAC). It will require experience and/or expertise in these regions (part or all) as well as an ability to frame these sector-related experiences in a global context. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative / team-oriented environment, has a passion for process, enjoys analyzing / tracking public policy issues and has a zeal for contributing to the development of strategies to mitigate policy threats to the business. This role will be based in Washington, DC.


  • Produce regular, high-caliber briefings, reports, policy primers and white papers on key thematic risks and emerging policy issues
  • Drive information sharing across the Corporate Affairs function and beyond, which helps colleagues identify risk and share learnings
  • Tailor global advocacy papers and policy positions for the sector and market needs
  • Serve as a critical link between corporate / HQ colleagues and the markets, to include operating as a force multiplier to market-based government affairs colleagues on specific issues and projects (e.g., increasingly frequent regulatory updates requested by corporate and emerging / acute policy issues)
  • Manage the participation in, and integrity of, key databases and collaboration hubs
  • Help lead policy training efforts for Corporate Affairs, cross-functional and regional colleagues
  • Engage externally to gather key insights, cultivate critical relationships and drive issue-based advocacy


  • Bachelors Degree
  • 8-10 years of working experience (corporate, government, think tank preferred)
  • Previous experience in Africa, Middle East and South Asia (AMESA) or the Asia Pacific, Australia / New Zealand and China (APAC)
  • Previous public policy experience is not necessarily required; however, should have a strategic eye and strong interest in these types of issues and content
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience leveraging process to support smart policy analysis
  • Highly proactive and able to navigate ambiguity and complexity while developing successful solutions
  • Well-organized with strong attention to detail while working in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, including comfort with supporting and interacting with senior executives
  • Strong customer focus
  • High-level creative thinking and the confidence to use it
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and self-motivated
