Job Overview:

The Sr. Regulatory Analyst’s primary purpose is to provide permitting and regulatory compliance expertise in support of the company’s projects. The Sr. Regulatory Analyst will be Carbon America’s subject matter expert regarding all local, state, and federal regulations governing carbon capture, transportation, and sequestration. This position will be charged with ensuring the company’s operations remain in compliance with the rules and regulations through all phases of development.

This role requires collaboration with multiple teams across the company to compile the information required to submit applications to the US EPA CLASS VI UIC Program, California Air Resources Board Carbon Capture and Sequestration Protocol, Class VI permits in states with primacy, drilling permits required by state oil and gas commissions, and various pipeline permits. This position will also require submittal and tracking of ongoing compliance filings once operations commence. As Carbon Sequestration is a relatively new and developing industry, we encourage applicants with experience in other regulatory roles to apply.

This is a staff position that will report to the Director of Environmental and Regulatory Compliance.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (regulatory affairs, policy, geology, land use planning, etc.)
  • 10 years of experience as a Regulatory Analyst
  • Well-versed in environmental and regulatory laws and practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and SharePoint
  • Experience building relationships with regulatory agencies and project stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and organize workload
Preferred
  • EHS, air, and pipeline regulation experience
  • Technical writing experience

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with multiple teams to compile information required to file applications
  • Maintain, identify, and track regulatory requirements, submissions, and approvals
  • Develop business relationships with regulatory agencies and project partners
  • Stakeholder outreach and engagement
  • Communicate regulatory requirements and deadlines to the company

 

General Requirements and Job Details:

  • Must be able to work at a computer for at least eight hours per day
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position is based out of our Lakewood, Colorado offices with periodic site visits and stakeholder engagement meetings as needed.
  • This Exempt position has a standard schedule of Monday through Friday and is Full-Time.
    • This is a salaried position so there may be times when a non-standard schedule is required.
  • The salary range is $80,000 to $110,000 commensurate with experience
