The Role

Lord Abbett’s Sustainability team provides strategic leadership for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives across the business to drive positive, innovative impact for our stakeholders. As a Social Impact Strategist, you will help shape and realize our social impact objectives within the firm and our global communities. Reporting to the Head of Social Impact, you will leverage your creativity, passion for helping others, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills to promote an environment of belonging in which everyone can thrive, grow our innovative community partnerships, and elevate our philanthropic giving. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner who thrives in a collaborative fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of social impact goals encompassing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and community engagement
  • Assist in developing innovative approaches to achieving established firm social impact goals internally and externally
  • Assist in the day-to-day leadership of the firm’s Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and associated initiatives
  • Partner with BRGs to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and DEI strategy
  • Partner with Human Capital Management (HCM) team to
    • embed DEI into every aspect of the employee journey
    • engage leaders and promote social impact initiatives
    • track key performance indicators (KPIs) demonstrating the firm’s progress against its social impact objectives

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with experience working in DEI preferred including experience working with:
    • DEI as a strategic driver of business performance
    • professional diversity organizations
    • inclusive recruitment and talent development
    • effective approaches to attraction, recruitment, selection, and engagement
  • A passion for driving results
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to collaborate with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to adapt in growing area and fast-paced environment
  • Capability to craft and communicate a clear project plan and to keep stakeholders informed on progress
