Social Media & Communications Specialist
The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is a dynamic and growing non-profit organization dedicated to research, advocacy, and patient and medical education as we work toward a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and support those impacted by psoriatic disease.  Headquartered in Portland, OR, the Foundation is seeking an experienced Social Media & Communications Specialist.

The Social Media & Communications Specialist is integral in planning, implementing and monitoring the company’s social media strategy to increase awareness, foster engagement and drive conversions.
As the Social Media & Communications Specialist, you will grow our social media presence, engage with our followers, and foster connection with the NPF brand through earned media. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, schedule and manage content across all social platforms – Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Monitor, facilitate and initiate meaningful conversations within the community, address important mentions and comments in real-time, and respond to incoming messages.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with influencers, supporting the creation and development of an influencer marketing strategy.
  • Discover trending topics, community needs, and interests of target audience across all platforms.
  • Assist with public relations efforts, including drafting press releases, monitoring brand mentions, and supporting media outreach.
  • Measure and monitor the success of social and earned media initiatives that align with the organization’s strategic focus.
  • Collaborate with teammates on content creation and curation, design, editorial calendar creation, and community management.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or relevant field with 1-2 years hands-on experience executing social media campaigns
  • Excellent knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and other social media channels
  • An understanding of social media best practices and KPIs
  • Exposure to and interest in public relations and earned media
  • Excellent written and communication skills with an acute ability to spot a good story
  • Experience with tools such as Hootsuite and Canva, and familiarity with web design and publishing
  • Excellent multitasking and strong time-management skills
  • Experience with reporting, tracking, and developing campaign insights
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
