The Social Media Manager is responsible for the creation and execution of a strategic annual plan focused on social media content creation and digital community management. This role will manage The Boca Raton’s social handles to tell the brand story and drive awareness, engagement, referral and advocacy. This role lives within the Marketing team and supports The Boca Raton’s business objectives, sales, industry moments, partnerships, and events.

Our story began in 1926, with a 100-room inn nestled in the brand-new city of Boca Raton. In 2022, The Boca Raton began a new chapter. Our evolution, which we refer to as A New Golden Era, includes a Phase One $200 million transformation that promises the ultimate glamorous lifestyle. We are now moving into Phase Two of our reimagination.

Set on 200 lake and oceanfront acres with five distinct hotels, The Boca Raton is exclusive to resort guests and private club members. A culinary destination with over a dozen restaurants and lounges, new signature dining venues are in collaboration with Major Food Group. Amenities include a half-mile private beach, award-winning spa, 18-hole golf course, Racquet Club with 16 tennis courts and 4 pickleball courts, retail shops, and a 4-acre water oasis Harborside Pool Club.

This person will be highly organized, creative, a strong writer, and great at prioritizing what needs to get done now, while managing long term strategic initiatives.


Essential Functions


Job duties include, and are not limited to:

  • Create and execute cohesive social calendar. Manage day-to-day operations of The Boca Raton’s platforms to include content creation, drafting copy, scheduling, community management and reporting. (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, YouTube, Spotify)
  • Oversee and execute paid post strategies, including boosting posts and allocating social media spends
  • Increase awareness and positive perception of the Resort and members-only Club, its dining venues, spa, onsite experiences, activities, services and executives.
  • Create engaging and impactful channel-specific content optimized for each social handle and intended audiences.
    • Direct and shoot content with an elevated aesthetic. Take images and videos around property as needed for social media content
    • Plan and oversee social media-specific photography and videography shoots with outside vendors as needed to ensure strong assets
    • Attend holiday and special events at TBR to take images / video directly
    • Manage internal UGC library. Identify suitable UGC, and secure permissions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with target social media influencers to amplify key messages and activities; Coordinate influencer visits, and oversee partnerships with them to create buzz, and achieve ROI
  • Community Engagement – Daily monitoring of our social media handles to engage with followers, manage community conversations, and uncover customer service opportunities. Establish open channels for Resort Guest / Member feedback
  • Work closely with resort’s operational departments to contribute to brand’s business plans, and implement tactics that drive revenue
  • Reputation Management: Keep track of public attitudes on social media channels, develop key messages and manage issues. Serve as on-property social media contact during crisis situations if they arise, working in close relationship with CMO, Director of Communications and Director of PR
  • Stay up to date on new, evolving social media trends (including new features, technology and algorithmic changes) and use those insights to reach and grow our audiences
  • Monitor competitors and other social media leaders to see how they are using tools / platforms to be the early adopter of technologies
  • Oversee reporting and compile analytics and data. Evaluate the competition’s social media communications activity and implement change as dictated by market requirements. Exhibit flexibility and proactively pivot based on business needs.


Internal Relationships / Alignments


  • Report to Director of Communications & Branding; Dotted line to Chief Marketing Officer.
  • Collaborate with members of Marketing team to develop strategies and timelines, maximize efforts and brainstorm new ideas.
  • Work closely with resort’s operational departments on strategies and promotions; Maintain positive cooperative working relationship.


External Relationships


  • Coordinate and collaborate with The Boca Raton’s agency partners as needed to ensure cohesive messaging, brand guidelines and maximization of efforts. Including branding agency, PR agency and digital agency.



  • In-depth knowledge of best practices, and the intricacies of each social platform; and how to read/use analytics to determine and refine strategy
  • Proven track record of producing impactful content that increases audience, engagement, and buzz
  • Expertise in the areas of social analytics, search, paid, and earned media
  • Strong creative instincts / communications skills – exceptional writing skills, and an eye for aesthetics and branding
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a diligent commitment to strive for quality
  • A self-starter who can multi-task and prioritize; Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Need occasional availability weekends and evenings for content capture, posting and oversight of content creation and vendors.


Education/Experience Requirements


  • Minimum five years of experience in managing social media accounts for brands/companies, specifically in the hospitality industry and/or related fields
  • University degree in journalism or communications or equivalent experience in social media / marketing
