Location: Columbia, MD

Position Summary:

The Social Media Marketing Specialist will be responsible for raising awareness of Ambu’s products by utilizing cross-platform social media content. He/she will manage and report on social analytics, moderate channels, guide conversations, and identify social trends within company channels. By driving brand-building social media efforts, building content calendars, managing internal deliveries, and publishing content daily, the Social Media Marketing Specialist will ultimately increase engagement with Ambu’s products and drive traffic to Ambu’s websites and social media accounts

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Publish daily content to Ambu’s social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
  • Write social copy that is representative of Ambu’s products
  • Prepare reports and case studies on usage statistics and successes
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on social media projects, incorporating marketing plans, and driving audience building and engagement in social spaces
  • Engage with followers daily on all social channels (i.e. answer questions, starting conversations, etc.)
  • Identify, assess, and monitor trends and create unique stories around trending searches
  • Work with the Marketing content teams to support products, website initiatives, and develop new ideas
  • Create content calendars to optimize postings across all social channels and ensure coordination with ongoing marketing calendars
  • Analyze and evaluate current social media industry news and changes within each platform
  • Occasional overtime may be required as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in New Media, Social Media, Marketing, or Journalism, preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Social Media or Digital Communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient copywriting skills and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Deep understanding of social networks channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Familiar with Buffer 3rd party social media applications, social media analytics (e.g. Google analytics)
  • Knowledge of medical device field, preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask in the constantly evolving social space
  • Knowledge of online content management systems
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, photo re-sizing skills, and image creation
  • Experience with Dreamweaver, InDesign, or similar platforms, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
