Position Summary
The Environmental Sustainability, Senior Professional will be based in Baltimore and support UA’s strategic objectives around Environmental Sustainability including its Climate Action strategy’s implementation and evolution. The candidate should understand, and have experience supporting, carbon accounting, decarbonization techniques, apparel supply chain, traceability, climate risk-scenario analysis, CDP Climate/Water/Forestry, and TCFD, CSRD, and CSDD.
The candidate will coordinate with cross-functional business units to (1) collect annual data for Scope 1-3 greenhouse gas emissions calculations, (2) enhance and operationalize a climate action strategy focusing on emission reductions including those specific to UA business units, (3) help implement emission reduction techniques within and related to various UA business units, and (4) report out on progress towards UA’s emission reduction goals and targets. The Senior Professional will support UA’s supply chain sustainability initiatives by collaborating with partnering organizations to enroll suppliers into emissions and water reduction programs (e.g., SAC, Aii, CLP) and monitor their progress. In terms of reporting, the candidate will collaborate with other sustainability team members to leverage, supplement and implement relevant UA IT systems and create/evolve tableau dashboards to track and report on progress towards UA’s Sustainability goals to internal and external stakeholders. This role will also implement and expand UA’s Facilities Environmental Module (FEM) supplier self-assessment, and verification with a focus beyond Tier 2 suppliers, and support complete supply chain mapping and traceability initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
⦁ Collect annual greenhouse gas data for carbon emissions foot printing.
⦁ Enhance and operationalize an emissions reduction strategy for UA’s cross-functional business units. Collaborate with UA’s cross-functional business units to implement emission reduction techniques.
⦁ Develop quantitative and qualitative content for various reporting and disclosures including, but not limited to CDP Climate/Water/Forestry, TCFD, BRM, CSRD, and Under Armour’s sustainability reporting.
⦁ Support the Senior Lead, Environmental Sustainability, to map UA’s supply chain beyond Tier 2 (e.g., Tier 3-4), and develop a process for suppliers to complete Worldly (formerly Higg) FEM self-assessment and verification.
⦁ Update and develop environmental guidance materials for cross-functional business units and suppliers on an as-needed basis.
⦁ Enroll supply chain partners into emissions and water reduction programs with a focus on Beyond Tier 2 suppliers and business partners.
⦁ Support dashboard creation and track progress of UA’s corporate wide sustainability goals.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
⦁ Knowledge of science-based targets and CDP Climate/Water/Forestry, TCFD, CSRD, and CSDD.
⦁ Knowledge of Worldly FEM, SAC, Aii, CLP and RE100.
⦁ Knowledge of apparel, accessories, and footwear supply chain/manufacturing processes.
⦁ Ability to review corporate data for GHG emissions modeling.
⦁ Knowledge of unit conversions for waste, water, and emissions quantification.
⦁ Ability to develop and socialize strategic and technical documents.
⦁ Experience with Tableau, Miro, and PowerPoint.
⦁ Experience with energy/climate IT and PLM systems helpful.
⦁ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
⦁ Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and flexible work style.
Education And / Or Experience
⦁ BA/BS in environmental sustainability, mathematics, environmental science, engineering, accounting or a quantitative analysis discipline, with a combination of quantitative and qualitative focus
⦁ Graduate degree focused on energy/environmental sustainability preferred
⦁ Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably fast-paced work in corporate environmental sustainability, related to corporate climate and/or water-focused consulting, or apparel/footwear supply chains
Other Requirements
⦁ Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.
⦁ Return To Work Designation: 3 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
⦁ Travel: When needed, expected to be infrequent
