Sr Regulatory Affairs Analyst / Manager Strategic Engagement
Position Specific Description
The Senior Analyst/Manager Engagement will help support a team of three in the design, management and implementation of enterprise wide strategies and tactics to enhance the grassroots advocacy capabilities at the state and local level. He/She will have a proven track record of successful experience in campaign or issue management, a familiarity with the political process and electoral politics and have solid exposure to traditional campaign tactics such as paid, earned and social media, as well as community engagement and related organizational alliances and partnerships. The role will report to Executive Director, Strategic Engagement of Regulatory & Political Affairs, but will closely coordinate with two Directors, as well as NEER Development, Marketing and Communications, IT and FPL External Affairs. The engagement program seeks to develop long term strategies to strengthen NextEra’s relationship with key state and local officials, community leaders and landowners by developing an “always on” approach that is focused on a long-term engagement with key localities and states. The Analyst/Manager benefits from professional experience in the areas of strategic communications, political offices, or work in state and local government. Previous corporate experience is desired. The program will draw on resources from across the business units, so cross-functional experience is desired. The position is based in Juno Beach, FL. Some travel may be required (20-30%).
Employees in this role support Florida Power and Light’s (FPL) Regulatory Affairs team and are involved in the Company’s projects and dockets that are filed with the Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC). This position collaborates with different business units and involves familiarity with a variety of regulatory concepts, practices, and procedures.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinates regulatory filings and proceedings
- Leads and plans docket team meetings, develops project timelines, reviews petitions and testimony, manages discovery, summarizes key milestones, and attends hearings
- Summarizes and reports on changes in complex rates regulations and any expected impacts on the Company
- Monitors state and national regulatory proceedings and provides timely summaries to leadership
- Masters standard concepts, practices, and procedures of the state’s regulatory proceedings
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
