The Store Communications Specialist is responsible for writing, consolidating, organizing, reviewing store messages, store task lists, and maintaining a centralized events calendar from global and regional teams to the stores. Ensures communication is correct, consistent, complete, and representative of the Whole Foods Market brand and translated into store speak. This role will support and interact with an extensive group of cross-functional partners by advocating for crafting clear, simple messaging to drive for successful in-store execution and information reaches the right levels of the organization at the right time.

This role reports to the Executive Leader of Store Communications, working in close partnership with Regional Leadership, Global cross-functional teams, and many stakeholders across the company.Responsibilities:
Write and proofread store communication messages, publications, and ensure tenets and guidelines are fully met.
Act as a communications gatekeeper by injecting logic and care into “run the business” type communications from global and regional teams to stores.
Assist with the management, day-to-day functionality and track future development items for the store communications tools.
Review and maintain the store events (unified) calendar to ensure accuracy, flag workload conflict, spot redundancies, and timely publication of information submitted by global and regional Teams.
Own the writing, refining, simplifying, and posting of regular store communication program updates.
Update, organize, maintain changes, and intake for store facing task lists.
Write and maintain store communication tool training materials – user guide and job aids.
Work closely with subject matter experts across the business to streamline and simplify store communication.
Responsible for the curation of consolidated weekly store messaging tools – huddle topics, talking points, the focus of the month/week, weekly note, and leadership messaging in support of the overall business strategy.
Recommend changes to streamline cross-functional team communication workflow or processes and improve messaging to the stores.
Facilitate feedback loops, create and synthesize surveys to actively solicit feedback from a wide range of stakeholders that will inform the continual improvement of the store communication tools.
Proactively solve day-to-day problems and exercise good judgment, including determining when to escalate issues and when to take the initiative to solve the problems at hand.
Earn trust, provides sound counsel and effectively communicates with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

Advanced verbal, writing, and editing skills (business and technical writing). Able to present ideas with clarity and vision.

Familiarity with Smartsheet, Content sharing platform, SharePoint, Microsoft products- Word, PPT, and Excel.
Knowledge of brick-and-mortar operational communication.

Ability to handle confidential information.
Able to plan and organize project activity in accordance with WFM and project-specific stakeholder expectations.
Generally familiar with WFM organization, business objectives, and drivers of success.
BA/BS degree and 1-3 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
3+ years experience in-store communication in brick-and-mortar or similarly sized business-oriented environment
Grocery retail experience preferred
Familiarity with utilizing a store communications solution and a variety of communication channels
