Project Overview:

ITA has over 3,500 employees and Contractors/Interns located around the world providing services to U.S. companies and their trading partners, U.S. trade policy makers, and U.S. trade representatives. ITA provides services including trade policy development, trade analysis, trade promotion, trade negotiation, and fair-trade enforcement. The ITA’s mission is to create prosperity by strengthening the competitiveness of U.S. industry, promoting U.S. trade and investment, and ensuring fair trade and compliance with trade laws and agreements. The ITA’s TSI office provides Information Technology services to a domestic and international customer-base. The IT services provided by TSI include: network and infrastructure services, enterprise architecture services, application development services, web hosting services, IT acquisition services, IT customer support services, cyber security services, and IT policy and planning services.


Summary of Major Job Functions:

The Strategic Communications Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. The primary responsibility will be creating, implementing and supporting communications strategies and plans. The Communications Specialist must have the skills to build strong working relationships across the organization to succeed. The Communications Specialist will work with senior leaders and executives in helping them develop effective communications.


Primary Responsibilities:

Create content for News Articles, Announcements, Memos, Meeting Agenda, short training videos, and Ad-Hoc communications. Coordinate external and internal communications flow. Perform quality check testing on media used for sending out communications. Design graphics for mass media announcement. Maintain communication tracking spreadsheet. Assist with talking points and preparation for major meetings, seminars, and similar events

Attend and take meeting notes. Recommend improvement to existing communication templates, procedures, and protocols. Collaborate with various stakeholders on communication deliverables. Serve as a facilitator and provide solutions for Strategic Communication action items.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous working experience as a communications specialist (3-6) years
  • Previous working experience as a video or multimedia specialist for (2 – 5) years
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Familiar with creating training video scripts
  • Experience with motion graphic products is a big plus
  • BA or BS in video production, public relations, communications or similar relevant field
  • Skilled in using photo and video-editing products

Education/Experience: Bachelors

BA or BS in video production, public relations, communications or similar relevant field.


Certifications (Desired):

Change management certification in Prosci’s ADKAR or designation desired.
