Lone Star College, recently honored as a 2023 Great Colleges to Work For for the 10th time and 7th consecutive year, is seeking a proven leader as our next Vice Chancellor, Strategic Engagement and Communications.

Responsibilities

The Vice Chancellor, Strategic Engagement and Communications is responsible for overseeing the management and strategic direction of assigned areas. The Vice Chancellor leads and implements comprehensive engagement, communications, marketing, and advocacy strategies to support LSC’s mission and goals. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the visibility, reputation, and value of LSC on local, state, and national levels. This position serves on the Chancellor’s Cabinet.

Qualifications

The ideal Vice Chancellor, Strategic Engagement and Communications will have demonstrated experience in government relations, advocacy, and public policy, including familiarity with legislative processes and the regulatory environment. They will have a commitment to student success, collaboration, and familiarity with challenges and opportunities in a large, multi-campus community college system, respecting the unique cultures of each individual campus. They will possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, staff, and the public. A strong understanding of media relations, crisis communications, and strategic communication planning is also needed for success.
