ABA is seeking a Vice President, BankPac that will serve as the external lead for ABA’s Political Action Committee, BankPac.  This position is responsible for overseeing and delegating the daily operations of a $4M/cycle political action committee; as well as liaising with/servicing 43 affiliated state banking association federal PACs and 51 state banking associations; ABA’s broader membership; the National BankPac Committee; ABA’s Congressional Relations division and the other members of the Political Engagement division.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Work to advance political and advocacy goals of the American Bankers Association 
  • Responsible for all strategic activities of the Committee including fundraising; investments and communication efforts 
  • Act as primary staff liaison for National BankPac Committee 
  • Ensure BankPac’s compliance with the Federal Election Commission
  • Ensure BankPac’s compliance with the Lobbying Disclosure Act 
  • Manage BankPac administrative budget
  • Work with peers in Political Engagement division to promote synergies between Grassroots, ABA’s Voter Education, and ABA State Association Alliance efforts
Required Experience: 
  • 4-year degree 
  • 7-10 years in PAC management
  • Full understanding of campaign finance law and FEC regulations
  • Background in project and relationship management, meeting planning, budget management
  • Experience managing outside vendors
  • Ability to juggle multiple personalities and priorities, internal and external customers
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required
Preferred Experience: 
  • Trade association experience
  • Proficiency with Aristotle 360 PAC compliance database
