JOB OBJECTIVE: This is an exciting role in a growing company. The ideal candidate for the Vice President, Government Affairs is someone who has experience with building trusted relationships with government officials to create meaningful partnerships while expanding our business.  You will help us build a fast-moving, collaborative team to impact policy and help Epirus succeed through cross functional partnership with marketing, sales and our product organizations. The focus is on engaging in the development and implementation of legislation, policies, regulations, and programs aligned with the company’s strategic interests to further Epirus programs. 

 

Duties 

  • Coordinate and driving key strategic policy priorities, executive relationships, and policy business enablement functions at the federal and state level 
  • Lead analysis of proposed legislative actions, determine the potential impact on the organization and develop appropriate responses 
  • Identify opportunities for external consultants to help us hit our deliverables and manage their relationship with Epirus 
  • Identify opportunities for senior executive engagement across governments, to include opportunities for the Epirus executive leadership team
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to identify opportunities to influence partnerships at the strategic level.  
  • Required ongoing partnership with sales leadership on strategic plans, current impact, gaps, new opportunities to address
  • Research and monitor government activities that could affect the organizations business and customers
  • Assists senior management and leadership with strategic planning for known and potential regulatory activities related to the business and industry 

Required Qualifications 

  • 15+ years in a similar role 
  • Industry or Legislative-Government Affairs experience 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Based in the Washington DC area
  • US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future clearance may be required) 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization 
  • Master’s degree 
  • Aerospace/Defense experience and/or military experience
  • Mission focused. You understand the environment; you are passionate about the mission and you know how things get done
  • Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
