Jefferson Solutions, the government consulting company of Jefferson Consulting Group, a well-respected, woman-owned small business in Washington, D.C. seeks highly qualified individuals to serve as Visual Information Communications Specialist in support the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA).

The Visual Information Communications Specialist – Videographer serves as a key member of the Internal Communications (IC) team, leading production of photo, audio, and video projects. The Visual Information Communications Specialist works closely with other members of the IC team and groups across the Agency, with a particular emphasis on providing production support to the Office of the Administrator. The IC team requires operational and functional support to provide visual information communications Agency-wide, and for sub-sections of the Agency. The Visual Information Communications Specialist reports to the IC Team Lead in executing the duties and responsibilities referenced in this description.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Audio and Video Projects – 50%

· Independently coordinates the IC team audio and video project portfolio, including project management and planning to meet high Agency customer demand.

· Collaborates with technical experts.

· Writes scripts and designs storyboards.

· Shoots, records, edits, captions, and posts live audio and video.

· Utilizes and edits stock video for relevant projects.

· Creates animations for video projects.

· Creates music soundtracks for audio and video projects.

· Creates podcasts and other audio-only content.

· Tracks acquisition and storage of IC equipment and software.

· Coordinates audio projects, video projects, and finished content within Agency digital asset management systems.

Photo Projects – 25%

· Independently coordinates the IC team’s photo projects.

· Coordinates digitization and archiving initiatives.

· Tracks acquisition and storage of IC equipment and software.

· Collaborates with other teams and bureaus on photo projects.

· Shoots, edits, captions, and posts photos.

· Develops photo campaigns and shares content on Agency social media platforms.

· Coordinates photo projects and ensures accurate recording of photo information within Agency digital asset management systems.

Project Management and Metrics Analysis – 25%

· Independently coordinates the entire internal portfolio of IC audio, video, and photo projects, including project planning (as assigned).

· Collects, analyzes, and reports relevant data on A/V use and A/V effectiveness from Agency consumers.

· Coordinates development and distribution of audio/video metrics analysis for each project and across the IC team portfolio.


· The ability to obtain a secret-level security clearance is required. An active secret-level clearance is preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, or Master’s degree and 5 years relevant experience.

· Minimum of 3 years of editorial, graphics design, and audio/video experience is required. 5 or more years of experience preferred.

· Minimum 3 years of audio/video communications experience required. 5 or more years of experience preferred

· Minimum one year of experience with foreign development programming required. 3 or more years of experience preferred.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar digital audio, video, and still photo editing platforms required. 5 or more years of experience preferred.

· Experience supporting events for the US Government, foreign governments, and/or international organizations preferred.

· Experience with still photography, video and audio production communicating foreign development programming and personnel feature stories.

· Ability to provide support required outside of core working hours, as necessary. The Visual Information Communications Specialist will be notified in advance if after-hours support is required.

· Ability to occasionally perform duties required at sites outside of the primary place of performance, generally (though not exclusively) in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
