Description

The Head of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations will be responsible for strategic and operational leadership of all company communications, to lead our external Investor strategies as well as manage our external and internal communications ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms to all stakeholders, both internal and external. Reporting to the COO, this position will lead the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive, investor relations and corporate communications strategy and manage relationships with the investment community, including investors and sell-side analysts.  This individual will also be responsible for all corporate communications, including corporate visibility, media and public relations, alignment with corporate strategy and public affairs.  This person will contribute to company branding, employer branding and internal messaging strategy and execution, collaborating with internal Functional Leads and Human Resources. This individual will work closely and collaborate with the Executive Team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning, direction, and execution of IR/PR/Corporate Communications
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive investor relations strategy
  • Partner with the CEO and COO to lead and manage the company’s participation on quarterly earnings calls, investment conference calls and in-house meetings, road shows, analyst days, and one-on-one meetings
  • Lead strategic communications development, including, developing communication plans to take advantage of key Company milestones, preparing press releases, presentation decks, and earnings releases, creating management Q&As, conference call scripts, and business descriptions/other information for securities filings, the annual report and the Company website
  • Develop relationships and maintain regular communication with individual investors and select sell-side contacts to provide up to date information about events and market trends affecting the Company, with the goal of communicating our long-term vision
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other functional areas to develop messaging that authentically promotes the Company
  • In collaboration with HR, Functional Leads, and corporate counsel, manage internal employee communications and media training
  • Develop and evolve the communication strategy to align with changes to the business
  • Assures information is in compliance with all product promotion guidelines, SEC regulations and adheres to Regulation FD
  • Manage and direct external firms and consultants to deliver high-quality work at the expected cost
  • Develop and manage digital and social media campaigns for the Company

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with direct experience leading Investor Relations and Corporate Communications at a public biotech company
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a related discipline
  • Established relationships and credibility with the investment community, media and biopharma journalists
  • Uncompromising ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and the highest level of discretion; knowledge of SEC and disclosure requirements preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional ability to present in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience in managing and overseeing contract IR/PR agencies and vendors
  • Must have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated experience to lead and influence within a matrixed environment
  • Must be independent and highly motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
