Responsible for achieving company’s legislative and policy goals before Congress, the Administration, and Executive Agencies through outreach to government officials and staff, as well as coordination with industry partners, third parties, and business units. Responsible for managing specific relationships with government officials and their staff.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Develop and implement federal legislative strategies.
Build and cultivate relationships with key public officials in Congress, the Administration, and Executive Agencies.
Coordinate closely with communications, regulatory and policy and external affairs teams to advance company’s policy and legislative priorities.
Assist in development of plan to make contributions from the federal Political Action Committee.
Serve as representative on behalf of Charter in front of federal government officials and staff.
Supervise and direct outside consultants regarding legislative priorities and strategies.
Draft policy memoranda and talking points for executives.
Provide internal advice and counsel on legislative trends and actions that could impact the company.
Perform other duties as requested.
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understanding English
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legislation, statutes, regulations, agency notices, and public filings

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and government officials
Knowledge of cable television products and services
Knowledge of Congressional and FCC procedures and processes
