Who you are

You understand how to take data on an audience we need to reach and turn it into a thoughtful media plan. You have experience planning and executing large scale media plans and managing teams. You know how to balance the pressure of a quick turnaround political launch with the necessity of a strong Q/A process. You have a strong understanding of the targeting offerings on each digital platform and a strong bullshit meter for what isn’t legitimate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the media operation, including media planning and buying, programmatic and platform buying, ad operations, and reporting

  • Help build and train the team, including developing processes that ensure that there are multiple sets of eyes on everything so that mistakes can be avoided

  • Work with the head of the creative department to ensure deadlines are clear and actionable

  • Continue to be educated on new digital offerings, including new media and targeting opportunities

  • Manage short term media planning + long term media reservations for clients to ensure we have premium ad inventory for the most vital moments

  • Ensure that reporting is being sent to the team in a timely manner and that the information is correct and the recommendations are strategic

  • Meet with the team regularly to ensure they are on track for deliverables, optimizations, etc.

  • Communicate with senior leadership on staffing needs and workload to ensure we are able to manage all of our programs effectively

  • Approve media invoices before they are sent out for payment


  • At least 6-10 years of experience in digital media planning and buying, including experience in CTV, pre-roll, SEM, paid social.Ideally experienced in political or advocacy work specifically.

  • Experience effectively managing a team and the ability to train and grow employees

  • A strong understanding of first party and third-party targeting offerings and a POV on what is the most precise, efficient way to reach audiences

  • A grasp of the digital creative landscape and how to think about the creative experience when determining media allocations

  • Works well in a fast-paced environment and is able to help the team prioritize and meet tight deadlines

  • An understanding of the research tools used to find media consumption data (comScore, e-marketer, etc.)

This position will be remote to start, with the possibility of ultimately relocating to Washington, D.C. or Chicago. The salary range for the position is between $120,000 and $150,000, commensurate with experience. Gambit Strategies also offers company paid healthcare, vision and dental insurance.
