2016 National Grassroots Conference
January 25-28, 2016
Loews Portofino Bay Hotel
Orlando, Fla.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR ATTENDEES (January 24, 7:30 p.m. EST):

As you know, the eastern seaboard is facing one of the worst snow storms in recent history. We have been following this and discussing options throughout the weekend. Our main concern is the safety of our constituency. We also want to ensure that we can deliver a great attendee experience. In an abundance of caution, and based on the reports we’ve received from transportation authorities, weather updates and our community, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone the National Grassroots Conference.

For our conference registrants, we know that this may be a big inconvenience. And for that, we are truly sorry. This is one of our favorite events, and we have never had to cancel it in the 39 years we’ve hosted the program. While we are unable to control the weather and airport schedules, we do want to make sure we make this up to you in every way that we can.

We will reschedule the conferencePlease check your email for complete information on our plans moving forward. There is great content, networking and information sharing we still want to deliver. We will begin working this week to find a suitable time and place to reschedule the event. While location and dates are still obviously TBD, we hope to be able to announce a rescheduled program in the coming weeks. We will keep you apprised of our progress.

If you are in Florida now, or in route and still planning to make it, we will still be hosting events in limited capacity.
We do have staff and a handful of speakers already on the ground now. We would be happy to host you for some networking events, small-scale roundtables and a handful of mini-sessions while you are there. We will be coordinating our schedules and will keep you posted on what we are able to deliver. You will still receive a refund, but we want to make sure you get value for your travel efforts. Please just let us know if you’ll still be in Florida this week by emailing us at ramos@pac.org.

Again, we apologize for the change and the impact it may have. Hopefully this allows you to avoid risky travel and additional delays. We will follow up in the coming days with more announcements. We hope to see you at the rescheduled event. As always, if you have other concerns, don’t hesitate to let us know.
