Tasks:
• Assists in the development and implementation of federal legislative and regulatory policy, programs and strategies to advance ABB market position and priorities.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with key legislative, executive agency, trade association, foreign embassy and non-governmental organization contacts to support and execute the Government Relations strategy.
• Effectively advocates ABB’s public policy priorities through message and materials development, direct lobbying, consultant management and coalition building.
• Builds company brand through communications across multiple channels, such as social media, ABB sponsored events, industry events, etc.
• Develops and implements ABB Government Relations strategy to position ABB as a global leader in digitalization.
• Provides targeted research, information, and advice to internal ABB stakeholders on government policies, programs and regulations with potential impact on the company.
• Directs ABB’s State Ambassadors program to build state-level relationships (i.e. state and local government officials) to promote ABB’s brand as a community leader and technology innovator.
• Provides advice and counsel to management in identifying and analyzing legislative, programmatic and regulatory issues that impact company interests.
• Communicates government activities through regular updates to internal ABB stakeholders.

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS in Political Science, Communications, or business-related field and 10 years of government related experience and experience with energy, digital, security, or technology sector advocacy OR;
• Master’s Degree and 8 years of government related experience and experience with energy, digital, security, or technology sector
Preferred Qualifications:
• JD or MBA strongly preferred
•Senior Leadership experience with superior communication skills
• Executive presence with deep technology and business knowledge specifically in applying government relations to achieve corporate goals, starting and executing change, and building key relationships
• 5+ years of experience on Capitol Hill and/or federal executive agency
• 5+ years of experience lobbying with corporation, trade association or outside policy consulting organization
• Strong understanding of corporate communication and reputation management
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills that drive action among internal and external stakeholders
• Strategic thinking and planning skills to develop short- and long-range integrated strategies.
• Strong business acumen
• Keen political instincts
• Highest ethical standards
• Extensive knowledge of federal legislative and regulatory processes
• Experience with complex corporate event planning and execution
• Experience in federal contracting and budget tracking
• Motivated self-starter able to work independently
• Experience in coalition lobbying

• Ability to work well with all levels of government, the ABB organization, trade associations and public interest groups

• Proficiency in social media
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or German a plus.
