About This Role
Climate Power has an immediate opening for a Project Manager for Climate Power’s Communications Department who helps drive the successful execution of day-to-day and long-term communications priorities and ensures that communication within the department and across the organization is streamlined.
This pivotal role will play a crucial part in not only spearheading the implementation of our forthcoming projects but also providing invaluable support in the strategic development of a short and long-term department calendar, communication products, in-person events, and cross-department endeavors. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of project and operations management, strategic thinking, and a passion for advancing our mission to combat climate change.
This position reports to the Managing Director, Communications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Communications support: Support Climate Power communications staff in the drafting, editing, and approvals of communications products across the department and the organization.
Strategic Calendar Development and Management: Create, implement, and manage department’s strategic communications calendar, from conception to execution, ensuring roll-outs, announcements, campaigns, and press events align with organizational objectives and enhance the organization and team’s visibility.
Thought Partnership & Strategic Implementation: Participate in the design and delivery of team based solutions that will prepare our organization and people for growth.
Meeting Coordination & Support: Coordinates logistics for team and partner meetings led by the Managing Director including creation of agenda, delegation of meeting roles/responsibilities, meeting notes, and tracking next steps.
Product & Project Management: Support communication’s team in overall coordination and management of their projects (Black Engagement, Storytelling, Surrogates, etc.) to ensure successful implementation of projects, drive project milestones, resolve challenges, organizational alignment, and optimize processes for efficient execution.
Product & Project Evaluation: Work with the Managing Director to create, implement, and manage an evaluation and internal reporting process to understand and improve the impact and value add of communication teams products and projects.
Additional duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant prior work experience in project/program management, executive leadership support, communications, event planning, campaigns, or electoral work.
- 2 years of people and/or project management experience; demonstrated success in leading departments and diverse teams and managing complex projects.
- Collaborative leader: Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Strong organizational skills demonstrated by the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate complex issues, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Effective communicator—both written and oral. Experience working in a dynamic and rapid response organization.
- Willingness to stay up to date on best practices and trends relative to the work and projects in their purview.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workplace.

$85,400 – $101,712 a year

Our interview process generally involves 3 rounds of interviews, ranging in length from 30-60 minutes. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meets or Zoom.
