Outlining the Media Landscape

News platforms, key figures and the way people receive information have fundamentally changed. Content creators and startup outlets now play a major role in the media ecosystem, making news and commentary more accessible than ever. This session explores where key audiences and decision-makers are turning to stay informed and what that means for communicators.

This session will cover:

  • Established and emerging outlets to watch across the media landscape
  • Analyzing where key demographic groups are consuming and receiving content
  • The role legacy media still play in shaping opinions and informing the public

Working with New Media Partners

Today, public affairs and communications professionals must navigate a fragmented web of independent journalists, Substack authors, newsletter authors, podcasters and “tradigital” platforms. These new media partners carry immense influence, but don’t play with the traditional PR playbook.

We’ll discuss:

  • Techniques to create a wholistic campaign with conservative-leaning and new media outlets
  • Rules of engagement with these media figures and their teams
  • How to best track your impact and engagement as well as maintain new relationships
