Digital Communications Manager

The American Association for Justice (AAJ) works to preserve the constitutional right to trial by jury and to make sure people have a fair chance to seek justice when they are injured by the negligence or misconduct of others—even when it means taking on the most powerful corporations.

Digital Communications Manager Responsibilities

  • Work with Communications Team to develop and implement online communications strategy, including generating content, maintaining content calendar, managing social media accounts, and executing digital campaigns.
  • Lead coordinated digital communications efforts across internal departments, external stakeholders, and organizational partners.
  • Create, edit, and manage original content, including copy, graphics, and videos for AAJ and the Take Justice Back campaign.
  • Work with Communications Team and AAJ Leadership to develop social media and digital best practices.
  • Build social media following and engagement through organic and paid growth.
  • Monitor civil justice news and trends across a variety of platforms. Work with Communications Team to develop and execute rapid response strategies.
  • Assist with building lists of key influencers, stakeholders, partners, and media and manage clips database of relevant stories.
  • Propose new initiatives and ideas in strategy sessions and daily communications planning meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of digital communications experience.
  • Creative, hardworking, and committed to promoting and strengthening civil justice.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail and good judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and under deadlines for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Understanding and knowledge of social media best practices, trends, and analytics.
  • Experience in media, political campaigns, Hill offices, or public relations preferred.
  • Experience with graphic design and video editing software, such as (but not limited to): Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro, Illustrator and InDesign; working knowledge of Sitecore and WordPress or other web content management system preferred.
  • Occasional travel for semi-regular conferences and events.
