Job Description:
Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
Communications and Marketing
- Develop, execute, and evaluate comprehensive communications plans to achieve organizational goals. Oversee marketing strategies which may include, but are not limited to social media campaigns, paid and earned media, online and electronic communications, and collateral development.
- Formulate and administer an annual operating budget.
- Define communication strategies to ensure consistency of messages and materials.
- Serve as college’s spokesperson/media liaison.
- Ensure the college and its units comply with UF identity/print guidelines in all communications and promotional materials.
- Work with departments to recommend, develop, and implement effective communications.
- Work with the UF News Team on story ideas and publicity for HHP through UF communication channels.
- Develop partnerships that enhance communications and marketing across UF and the broader community.
- Serve on university and college committees and represent HHP at professional associations.
- Meet with dean, chairs, development team and other stakeholders to ensure communications, marketing and event-related objectives of the college are being satisfied.
- Direct and supervise staff, sets performance standards, and establish accountability.
- Coordinate working group for department-level communication staff.
- Oversee college’s swag and brand apparel and the third-party online fan store.
Website and Social Media
- Oversee HHP’s social media presence to increase exposure via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn; analyze SEO, traffic stats and strategy for building audience.
- Work with the student success team to integrate social media messaging across college units and create a unified web presence.
- Continually renew and edit the college’s central website and assist departments in maintaining unit-specific websites.
- Work with agencies and third-party vendors to enhance and develop new functions of the website, including enhancements to department pages, integration with social media, etc.
- Review analytics for website to make strategic changes that optimize the user experience for our primary and secondary audiences.
Digital and Print Publications
- Identify stories of interest, oversee research and interviews, edit and direct annual magazine and e-newsletters.
- Oversee design and production of the college’s various marketing materials, which may include, but are not limited to event programs, brochures, flyers, newsletters, electronic announcements, and invitations.
- Coordinate and manage content and design through communications staff, part-time employees, interns, freelance writers, and other vendors and agencies.
- Work with third-party email platform to design and distribute digital communications for the college.
- Use analytics to measure and inform content and strategy.
- Develop scripts and presentations for college functions, as well as correspondence from college leadership.
Development and Alumni Relations
- Work with the development team to develop fundraising campaigns and engage alumni and donors by providing digital content, creating printed materials, and maintaining the giving/alumni section of the website.
Events
- Oversee logistics, budgets, and promotion for college-wide events that include tailgates, scholarship convocation, spring awards, and college recognition ceremonies. Primary responsibilities include the creation of programs, scripts, invitations, graphic designs, event promotion, and coordination of third-party vendors.
Expected Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred 10 years of experience. Bachelor of Science in journalism or related field. Strong project management experience. Able to multitask and meet deadlines. Excellent proficiency in Associated Press style and grammar.
