Job Opportunity: Senior Public Relations Specialist
We are currently looking for our next talented owner with a desire to succeed in our team environment. The next senior public relations specialist will work across firm practice areas but, specifically, with teams in our marketing and public relations practice. At the senior specialist level, our professionals have strong foundational skills in oral and written communications, project management, client service and thrive in a highly collaborative environment.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
The qualified candidate should have ten (10) plus years of experience and bring the following skills to adequately manage the responsibilities of the position.
COMPETENCIES
- Solid experience in media and public relations with background in journalism, nonprofit, or at a public relations agency working across multiple clients.
- Proven history of developing and executing media relations and public relations strategies at a high level; strong preference for a professional who brings broader communications capabilities as well, such as marketing communications, branding, website development, internal communications, crisis communications, content development and more.
- Comfortable counseling C-level executives, and mentoring and coaching internal teams.
- Demonstrate practical understanding of social media and the digital landscape and how to incorporate these into client programs, particularly coaching executives and subject matter experts (SMEs) for thought leadership PR programs; integrating SEO best practices into PR efforts; and developing a point of view on how AI could make the team smarter or more efficient.
- Ability to lead or assist in new business efforts, including participating in pitches, writing proposals, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, protect and enhance clients’ reputations through proactive and reactive media relations and impactful strategic messaging, particularly in the context of broader integrated communications programs.
- Ability to connect the dots and listen to client challenges/opportunities, then develop the best program to meet those needs, which could include PR and media relations, advertising, branding, sales enablement, social media and more.
- Work in partnership with practice leader to ensure team is constantly evolving and developing new offerings to meet client needs based on industry trends and best practices.
- Maintain a perspective on, and develop processes for, measuring communications, PR and media relations efforts.

LOCATION
This position is a full-time position in our hybrid environment requiring in-office attendance two days a week in our Cleveland, Ohio office.
