ADVI is seeking a Manager to join ADVI’s Federal and State Policy Solution area. The Solution focuses on developing business strategy and policy recommendations for our biopharmaceutical and provider clients. We are a collaborative team of consultants and Advisors all of whom are veterans of top healthcare and life science organizations, the federal government, state government, top consultancies, nonprofits, commercial payers, or data and analytics companies. We are often called upon to translate how the changing market landscape impacts the pharmaceutical industry, medtech, digital health, managed services, providers, and consumers. A successful applicant will have a sophisticated understanding of payment and delivery system transformation; health system and organized medicine strategy; Medicaid policy, redesign, and innovation; state health policy and strategy; and life sciences market access, coverage, and reimbursement strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support Solutions team leaders to help solve complicated client problems and engage clients with novel solutions and ideas, through both short- and long-term projects and ongoing retainer relationships.
- Develop, analyze, and communicate the implications of policy, coverage, or reimbursement changes on clients’ businesses and strategic imperatives.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research related to client objectives and deliverables and translate such research into clients’ business implications.
- Deepen subject matter expertise in prescription drug policy, including commercialization dynamics, pricing, coverage, and payment.
- Work independently and in cross-functional teams to contribute to the origination, development, and delivery of projects to clients including presenting to clients.
- Create written summaries, white papers, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations as part of strategic recommendations to clients.
- Use content expertise, solid proofreading, and layout skills to build client deliverables.
- Respond to client requests in a timely and appropriate manner with attention to detail and minimal management oversight.
- Present deliverables and answer client requests as appropriate in client calls/meetings or through follow up.
- Assist Account Managers in drafting project or retainer scopes of work and collaborate across Solutions areas where appropriate.
- Mentor Associates and Senior Associates with constructive feedback based on project work performed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
4-6 years of relevant work experience. An advanced degree in health policy, public policy, healthcare management, public health, public administration, economics, business administration, law, or a relevant discipline is preferred.
Qualifications:
- High skill level with communications, oral and written, including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to stakeholders within and outside of ADVI.
- Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid policy landscape, especially related to prescription drug issues.
- Experience analyzing federal and/or state policy proposals, legislation, and/or regulation and conveying findings to clients or other stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and convey data results, including synthesizing analytical results for a non-analytics focused audience.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize work streams effectively under deadline.
- Develop and deliver organized and compelling presentations, with the ability to synthesize complex information for a variety of settings and audiences, including at the executive and CEO-level.
- Action-oriented, forward-looking, and strategic with a strong sense of urgency and initiative to get things done by influencing others and building relationships in a team-oriented, collaborative atmosphere.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
